PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) - This Thanksgiving has a whole new meaning for a local Mom and her daughter.
A new job, new home and a family reunion is more than Stephanie Sanchez ever imagined.
Stephanie is thankful she and her daughter Zimzaya will be going home to Fall River this Thanksgiving.
Last year, that was not possible. She was out of a job, a home, and out of options. She went to Crossroads Emergency Shelter, where she enrolled in a nurse training program.
Once she got her nursing certificate, she and her daughter moved to the Crossroads long-term shelter program.
While living there, she searched through countless job ads on newspapers and websites before landing a job at a nursing home. Now, she has a full-time job and a beautiful new two-bedroom aparment right next door to the family center.
