PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) - Work will continue on the Wickenden Street Bridge, according to the Rhode Island Department of Transportation.
The RIDOT said the overnight work will continue Sunday-Thursday. Drivers should expect lane closures on Wickenden Street from 6:30 p.m. to 5 a.m.
Once the bridge is demolished, crews will begin creating a new 195 on-and-off ramp. They'll also work to complete the new Exit 2 off of 195 West.
Eventually, the entire old-195 will be demolished, freeing up 30 acres of land for development and public space.
