WPRI.com - A man accused of shooting two people in Providence last month, including a 15-year-old girl, faced the judge Monday morning for a bail hearing.

The judge ordered Jonathan Hernandez, 22, held on $110,000 dollars in connection with a shooting on Ontario St. However, he is due back in court Monday afternoon and could be held without bail as a probation violator on a previous drug charge.

According to police, Hernandez shot both victims on Ontario St. in the Elmwood section of Providence on the morning of Feb. 20. Neighbors say it's not uncommon to hear shots fired in the area.

"I don't go to the windows because you never know. You might get shot looking out the window," said a neighbor.

Dulce Garcia, 28, and Shalisa Hernandez, 15, both survived the shooting. Garcia was shot in the arm, and Hernandez was shot in the stomach.

During court proceedings Monday, prosecutors revealed the shooting was the result of an argument. However, the nature of that argument is not known.

Hernandez was on the run until police arrested him last week on two counts of felony assault and one count possession of a firearm.
