BOSTON (WPRI) - Lawyers for the man who calls himself "Clark Rockefeller" are asking a judge to dismiss a charge that he gave a false name when he was arrested.
Rockefeller, whose real name is Christian Gerhartsreiter, is currently behind bars on charges he kidnapped his daugher during a supervised visit in Boston last summer. The pair was later found in Baltimore.
Lawyers for the German national, who came to the United States in the 1970's, said he's used that alias for at least 15 years and was not trying to defraud anyone.
Rockefeller is also charged with parental kidnapping, assault and battery, and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.
