TIVERTON, R.I. (WPRI) - Tiverton police said officers arrested a man over the weekend wanted in connection with several crimes, including a home invasion last month.
David Rose, 32, of Tiverton is accused of breaking into a 72-year-old woman's home on Bulgarmarsh Rd. Jan. 15 while the woman slept. The victim told police she woke up to find a man in her living room. She said the man grabbed her hands, stole her pocketbook and ripped the phone from the wall before running from the home.
Investigators said Rose was considered a suspect in the crime and were actively searching for him when they picked him up on an arrest warrant from Fall River Police Department. Rose was wanted in connection with an unarmed robbery that city.
Once police had Rose in custody, detectives from Tiverton, Fall River and Taunton were able to question him, during which time they said Rose admitted to committing the January home invasion, along with two co-conspirators. Rose further admitted his involvement in several area robberies, they said.
Rose is scheduled for arraignment in Second District Court in Newport Monday, where police said he will be charged with robbery and conspiracy to commit robbery in connection with the Tiverton incident. He will also be charged as a fugitive from justice in connection with Fall River robberies.
Tiverton Police said they expect arrest warrants to be issued for Rose’s co-conspirators within the next several days.
