PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) - Stop & Shop grocery store chain will soon begin offering vaccinations for the H1N1 flu virus in several of its pharmacies.
The vaccination clinics will begin Jan. 8 and will cost $15 each. The chain said the immunizations will continue as long as enough doses are available.
Stop & Shop said the immunizations will be provided by certified and trained pharmacists and through the company's partnership with Maxim Health Services.
“The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention tells us that many people in the highest risk groups have been vaccinated against H1N1 and are now encouraging us all to protect ourselves against H1N1," said said Jim Wonderly, vice president of pharmacy operations for the chain.
Customers interested in receiving the H1N1 vaccination at their local Stop & Shop can talk to their pharmacist, visit Stop & Shop’s website, or obtain additional information by calling (800) 767-7772 Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
