PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) - A Providence man has been indicted on federal drug possession charges.

A federal grand jury on Wednesday charged 35-year-old Brayanth Fernandez with knowingly possessing more than 500 grams of cocaine with intent to distribute. Fernandez was arrested last month after police stopped his car.

Federal prosecutors say more than four kilograms of cocaine were seized, along with nearly $100,000 and a car. He is scheduled to be arraigned Thursday in U.S. District Court .

It was not immediately clear if he had a lawyer.
