PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) - Gas prices in Rhode Island have dropped for the third week in a row.

AAA Southern New England says in its weekly survey Monday that self-serve regular unleaded is now averaging $2.71 per gallon. That's a penny less than last week and a six-cent drop over three weeks.

But it's still 77 cents higher than the average price from a year ago at this time.

The national average for regular unleaded is $2.65.
