PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) - A meeting to discuss the fate of a troubled Providence nightclub has been postponed.
State Rep. Peter Petrarca and restaurant owner Gianfranco Marrocco say they've reached a tentative agreement to buy Club Elements, which has been closed since a violent brawl in the early morning hours of New Year's Day.
The Providence Board of Licences had scheduled a meeting Tuesday to discuss transferring the liquor license to the new ownership team. But board chairman Andrew Annaldo says he's postponed the meeting until Feb. 10 and expects a decision to be made soon after
that.
Petrarca and Marroco would have to apply for a new license if the license for Club Elements is revoked, or the board could transfer the license to them.
