PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) -- After a dramatic increase last week, gasoline prices in Rhode Island are back down three cents this week on average, according to AAA Southern New England.

As of Monday, Sept. 24, the auto club found self-serve regular unleaded gas averaging $3.95/gallon.

That price is 15 cents above the national average for regular unleaded gas.

The range of prices starts at $3.81 and reaches a maximum of $4.06.

This time last year, the average price was $3.67/gallon.
