PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) - Gasoline prices continue their steady ascent in Rhode Island, up six cents from last week.
According to the latest survey from AAA, the average price for a gallon of regular unleaded is $3.64, which is 13 cents higher than the national average. Over the past month, prices have risen 16 cents in the Ocean State.
At this time last year, the average price was $3.19 per gallon.
AAA says the range of prices locally is 25 cents, from a low of $3.54 to a high of $3.79.
AAA also alerts driver to check the fuel and air filters in your vehicles at least twice a year in order to save fuel. Not only can dirty filters increase fuel consumption, but they can also cause poor performance.
