More than 100 people held an unusual demonstration on the steps of the statehouse Thursday night.

The demonstrators were protesting Governor Don Carcieri's veto of a bill giving funeral planning rights to same sex couples.

The governor says he vetoed the bill because it erodes away at heterosexual marriage.

But the protestors say they will keep the pressure on Rhode Island lawmakers to override that veto.
