Lt. Gov. Roberts Invited to White House

Reception for Women's History Month

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) - Lieutenant Governor Elizabeth Roberts attended a White House Reception Monday in Washington, D.C.

Roberts was invited by the President and First Lady to celebrate Women's History Month .

Monday's reception was held in the East Room of the White House.

Roberts attended the events along with other women from across the country, including former U.S. Secretary of State Madeline Albright, the first woman to hold that office.

The event celebrated the achievements of women in both public and private life.

Elizabeth Roberts is the first woman to hold the office of Lieutenant Governor in Rhode Island's history.
