PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) - Eyewitness News Political Analyst is taking a closer look at the performance of the congressional candidates.

Fleming says the debate shows that Providence Mayor David Cicilline is the clear frontrunner.

According to Fleming, Cicilline was on the receiving end of a number of attacks during the debate, including three from Former Democratic Party Chairman Bill Lynch.

Fleming says Anthony Gemma's assertion that all of the Bush tax cuts need to be repealed was a risky move and could cost Gemma in the primary.

According to Fleming both Lynch and state Rep. David Segal did well in the debate but Cicilline was the winner.
