PAWTUCKET, R.I. (WPRI) - Representative Peter Kilmartin announced this week that he is officially declaring his candidacy for Attorney General.

“I stand before you and all Rhode Island to announce that my name is Peter F. Kilmartin and I am a candidate for Attorney General and respectfully request your support,” said Kilmartin.

“I posses the unique life experience that qualifies me for this office. Twenty four years as a police officer and prosecutor, twenty years as a legislator, seven years as an adjunct professor teaching law at Providence College and ten years as an attorney.”

Kilmartin, 48, also stated, “The Attorney General has the capacity to help so many people on so many different levels. I want to protect not only victims, but also the environment, charitable trusts, utility and insurance rate payers, consumers and our health care system.”
