CENTRAL FALLS, R.I. (WPRI) -- Central Falls' former mayor has agreed to pay a $7 thousand dollar fine after committing an ethics violation.

Charles Moreau admitted to accepting a new furnace and home repair work from Michael Bouthillette, a campaign contributor, in exchange for a lucrative city contract.

The former Mayor stepped down from his position following a years-long investigation into the contract.

Moreau pleaded guilty in November to a federal corruption charge and faces sentencing in February.
