BOSTON, Mass. (AP) - Gov. Deval Patrick will attend church before being sworn in for a second term, and then celebrate the achievement at the Boston Public Library.
The Democrat announced the plans Tuesday during a news conference at Faneuil Hall.
Two days after the Jan. 6 inaugural, first lady Diane Patrick will attend a youth town meeting in Boston. Then youth representatives of each of the state's 351 cities and towns will fan out across the area for service projects.
The effort is being supported by Boston Bruins President Cam Neely, as well as New England Patriots players Kevin Faulk, Vince Wilfork and Patrick Chung.
Patrick held his first inaugural in 2007 outdoors on the Statehouse steps. His second is being held inside the building in the House chamber.
The event is expected to cost $400,000 in private donations.
