Ted Nesi

Ted Nesi joined the Eyewitness News team in July 2010 as a political and economic reporter for WPRI.com, where he writes the Nesi's Notes blog. He is a weekly panelist on WPRI 12's "Newsmakers."

Before joining WPRI 12, Ted spent two years as a reporter and online editor at Providence Business News. He got his start as a rookie reporter with his hometown daily paper, The Sun Chronicle in Attleboro, Mass., where he covered local government and wrote a weekly op-ed column.

In 2011, Washington, D.C.'s Politico picked Ted as one of the top four up-and-coming political bloggers nationwide in its annual "50 to Watch" issue. The Washington Post named Nesi's Notes one of the best state political blogs in the country and called Ted one of the leading political reporters on Twitter. Providence Monthly named Ted one of the capital city's 10 to Watch in 2012 .

Ted has appeared as a guest on Rhode Island Public Radio, WPRO News Talk 630 and Rhode Island PBS. His reporting has been cited by national news organizations including The New York Times, Reuters, The New Republic, National Review, National Journal and Congressional Quarterly/Roll Call's Political Wire.

Ted is the winner of two New England Press Association awards and was a fellow at the Metcalf Institute for Marine and Environmental Reporting in 2009. He has also contributed to Time magazine, The Providence Journal and PBS.org.

Ted grew up in Massachusetts and graduated from Wheaton College in Norton, Mass. He lives in Providence.
