Nicole Estaphan

Nicole joined the Eyewitness News team in May of 2011 as a video journalist. A graduate of the University of Rhode Island, she is thrilled to be back in the Ocean State.

Nicole began her broadcast career as an anchor/reporter for WKTV in Utica, NY. After spending two years in Upstate New York, she headed to Burlington, VT where she also served as an anchor/reporter for WFFF-TV. Before her time in broadcasting she worked in Los Angeles for Katz Media.

Nicole received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Rhode Island and a master’s degree from Emerson College in Boston. While at Emerson she shot, produced, wrote and edited a documentary entitled “The Cost of Education’”. The film highlights the financial burden students take on in order to break into historically low-paying careers. She also received an Associated Press award for her feature work.

Nicole grew up in Grafton, Massachusetts. In her free time you may find her cheering on the Boston Red Sox, reading a good book, traveling or enjoying the beautiful beaches in Rhode Island. If you would like to share a story idea you can contact her at nestaphan@wpri.com.
