Mike Montecalvo co-anchor's the 5pm, 5:30p and 11p newscasts on WPRI and 10p news on FOX Providence.

A Woonsocket native, Mike is a graduate of La Salle Academy and Rhode Island College.  He has been a broadcaster in the Rhode Island and Connecticut markets since 1981.

Mike has received over 45 Community Service and Associated Press Awards, including the  2005 Communications Department Honor Roll Inductee at Rhode Island College, Meeting Street School's "Unsung Heroes Award and its "Walter Cryan Award.  Mike has helped raise millions of dollars for local charities, including Prevent Child Abuse Rhode Island, The Alzheimer's Association of Rhode Island, Rhode Island Community Food Bank, The Diabetes Foundation of Rhode Island, MS Society, Meeting Street School, March of Dimes, and more.

Mike spent 23 years in radio, working at various stations including 103.7 WRX, B101, 94 WHJY, WHJJ, WKRI, WWON and WNRI.  He also worked at WJAR TV and Cox Communications Channel Three.

Mike is a Lector and member of the Finance Council at Saint Anthony Church in Woonsocket.  He also served on the Board of Directors at Saint Rocco School in Johnston, Prevent Child Abuse Rhode Island and The Diabetes Foundation of Rhode Island.

He is an Adjunct Professor at Bryant University and is the Technical Advisor to the schools radio station WJMF.  He also taught at New England Technical College.

Mike enjoys playing softball, gardening, making homemade wine and spending time with his family.  Mike is married and has two daughter's.
