Elizabeth Hopkins joined Eyewitness News in June 2007 as Weekend Anchor and Reporter. You can watch her now every weekday morning anchoring Eyewitness News This Morning and the Rhode Show with co-hosts Vince DeMentri and Shawn Tempesta and also during Eyewitness News at Noon.

Some of Elizabeth Hopkins first memories are rooted in Rhode Island.  Most involve the iconic "Blue Bug."  She lovingly refers to this area as the geographic midpoint of her childhood, as her New York family spent most summers on Cape Cod.

Elizabeth returns to the east coast, after spending several years at WKOW in Madison, Wisconsin, where she anchored the five o'clock news, and also reported daily.  There, she garnered an Emmy nomination for her piece on "bug chasing," a term which refers to those seeking HIV infection.  Prior to working in Madison, she anchored the evening news at KNBN in Rapid City, South Dakota.  She began her career at KAUN in Sioux Falls.

In her spare time, Elizabeth enjoys not camping.  She also cooks, although friends and family have asked her to stop.  Elizabeth has dedicated her life to golfing poorly, an endeavor which has been a tremendous success thus far.
