A Massachusetts woman is facing animal cruelty charges, after investigators say she tried to drown her dog.
Barbara O'Driscoll, 60, of Cohassat was arrested in Hull earlier this week after she admitted to drinking alcohol and then, taking her terrier named "Foxy" to the beach, where she tried to drown her in the ocean.
State police said someone flagged down a trooper after seeing the dog get dragged by her leash into chest-deep water. The trooper tracked down O'Driscoll, and and took Foxy from her car. At that point, troopers did CPR -- "mouth to snout" - to resuscitate the dog.
Foxy is expected to make a full recovery following the ordeal. She will be put up for adoption in a few weeks.
