UXBRIDGE, Mass. (WPRI) - A fire just across the Rhode Island border sent five people to the hospital Saturday night.
It broke out around 7:30 p.m. on Hazel Street in Uxbridge, Mass.
One resident and four firefighters were sent to the hospital to be treated for smoke inhalation.
No other injuries were reported.
It took firefighters about two hours to douse the flames.
Crews evacuated surrounding homes due to the heavy flames and the possibility of a gas leak.
