NEW BEDFORD, Mass. (WPRI) - As part of redesigning a section of New Bedford's Acushnet Avenue, the city is holding an open house a week from today.
The Acushnet Avenue International Marketplace project is starting to move forward, according to a news release from Elizabeth Treadup of the office of Mayor Jon Mitchell. The city will update the public on the results of the first phase of the project on Feb. 15 at 6:30 p.m. at Cotali Mar Restaurant, at 1178 Acushnet Avenue.
The mayor's office says several ideas have been incorporated into the planning for the project, which will stretch from Coggeshall Street to Sawyer Street, in the hopes of revitalizing and re-invigorating the neighborhood.
