RAYNHAM, Mass. (WPRI) - Police in Raynham, Mass. got some help in an investigation where a local jewelry store was robbed.
Trends Jewelry Store on Route 44 in Raynham was robbed by two masked men on Friday, January 27th, and police are now searching for the suspects. The store's video surveillance system has given investigators an advantage in the case.
Officers said the two men waited in a nearby alley until closing time around 7 p.m.
They then forced a customer back into the store who had just left as they entered Trends where they forced an employee to the ground. The customer was then robbed and roughed up by the two men.
Once inside the store, a second employee was taken into the back at gunpoint as the robbers demanded a bag to be filled with jewelry and money. The pair ended up making off with an unknown amount of cash.
However, moments before the heist, the owner of the store had received a suspicious phone call from inside the store, called police, and set off the store's panic alarm system.
Both men made off with the money and merchandise and left through a back door and witnesses said they drove away in a black SUV.
Raynham Police are asking anyone with information on the two robbers to contact them at (508)-824-2716.
