PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Rhode Island and Miriam hospitals could merge together.
The hospitals, both located in Providence, are already part of
Lifespan but have kept separate services and administrators.
If the merger does happen, it would not affect Lifespan's
proposal to merge with the state's other hospital group, Care New
England.
The CEO says the process shouldn't result in significant loss of jobs or the loss of either hospital's unique identity.
