NEW BEDFORD, Mass (WPRI) - Southcoast Hospital Group is joining the growing list of hospitals that are now restricting children from visiting some patients.

Beginning Monday, Charlton Memorial Hospital in Fall River and Saint Luke's Hospital in New Bedford will no longer allow people under 18 to visit the maternity ward or the pediatric unit.

The move is designed to protect high risk patients from contracting H1N1.

Lifespan Hospital Group , which includes Rhode Island Hospital, Hasbro Children's Hospital, The Miriam Hospital & Newport Hospital, previously placed restrictions on certain visitors .
