FOXBORO, Mass. (WPRI) - Monday night's Patriots game against the Jets netted an unusually large number of arrests, most of them for alcohol intoxication.
112 people were arrested, 45-50 of whom were taken into custody right at the gates.
6 people were taken to the hospital for treatment. 15 were charged criminal offenses.
Police tell Eyewitness News that many people were staggering; some even seemed confused as to why they were there.
Investigators speculate that the cold weather may have contributed to the problem. Some people have the false belief that hard alcohol keeps them warm.
There were only 75 arrests at last year's Jets game.
