DIGHTON, Mass., (WPRI) - Nearly one-hundred firefighters from six different agencies have responded to a brush fire in Dighton, Mass.
The fire broke out Tuesday evening in the area of Smith Street.
According to Chief Antone Roderick, the extensive brush fire burned about 50 acres.
Eyewitness News has learned that two firefighters were treated and released for minor injuries.
Crews on scene say there are no evacuations at this time and no homes in danger.
Eyewitness News viewers reported seeing smoke from the fire miles away on the highway in Providence.
Brush fires reportedly also broke out earlier in the day in Providence, Taunton and Coventry.
