BOSTON, Mass. (WPRI) - A new study finds childhood obsesity to be a major problem in Massachusetts schools.
The survey, conducted by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health , examined more than 100,000 students in 80 different Massachusetts school districts.
On average, more than one third of youths studied are considered overweight or obese.
The survey found over 37% of students in New Bedford and Attleboro are overweight.
North Attleboro has an average of 33%, while Fall River is just over 30%.
