Admitted killer to be sentenced Thurs.
Man killed mother and ex-girlfriend

NEW BEDFORD, M.A. (WPRI) - An admitted killer is scheduled to be sentenced Thursday.
Gary Gomes, of New Bedford, pleaded guilty last week to killing his mother and ex-girlfriend in January 2009.
Police say he stabbed both Katherine Gomes and Robyn Mendes to death inside an apartment on Independent Street.
Officials say Gomes faces an automatic life sentence without the possibility of parole.
