WORCESTER, Mass. (AP) -- Authorities say a 3-year-old boy has died in a car crash in Worcester and his mother has been arrested.

Police say 27-year-old Christina Castro was speeding down a street at about 10:15 p.m. Monday when she lost control, her car crossed into the other lane, and struck two parked minivans.

When police arrived, Castro was outside her vehicle with her 5-year-old son. Her 7-year-old and 3-year-olds sons were still inside.

Police say the children were not properly belted in.

The boys were taken to a hospital, where 3-year-old Jayden Figueroa was pronounced dead at about 11 p.m. The oldest son remains in critical condition. Castro and the 5-year-old boy sustained minor injuries.

Castro is scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday on charges including motor vehicle homicide and reckless endangerment of a child.
