WARWICK, R.I. (WPRI) - It absolutely, positively had to get across the tarmac, but it was for a good cause.

Strong men and women competed at T.F. Green Airport Saturday, trying to pull a FedEx cargo jet down the runway for the third year in a row. It was all to benefit Rhode Islanders with multiple sclerosis.

The teams of 20 all managed to pull the 146,000 cargo jet, despite Saturday's rain making the blacktop a little slippery.

Last year's jet pull raised nearly $34,000, but that was with only 15 teams. A record 25 groups stepped up to show off their strength this year, according to organizers.
