WARREN, R.I. (WPRI) - A masked man armed with a gun robbed the Warren Convenience Store on Metacom Ave Thursday morning.
Nalin Patel, the store's owner, said the man entered the store around 9:30 a.m., pointed a gun at him and demanded cash. Patel said he has never been robbed before.
"He said give me money, what's in the drawer, the register. Give me money. I thought at first he was joking, but then I see that he had a gun," said Patel.
Patel said he gave the crook about $900 and the man ran off. Warren police were on the scene quickly, shutting the store down for 45 minutes while they investigated.
Police say the suspect is still on the loose. Officials continue to investigate.
