TAUNTON, Mass. (WPRI) - The suspect accused of leading police on a chase from Rehoboth to Pawtucket, before getting into a two-hour standoff with police in the middle of Ten Mile River, is now being held in Massachusetts on $500,000 cash bail.

John Keough, 27, is a Malden, MA resident -- but is charged with driving down more than an hour to Rehoboth to break into the School Street home of a 39-year-old woman last week, binding her, robbing her, stealing her car, and then leading that chase.

Tuesday, he faced a judge in Taunton District Court on his Massachusetts charges of home invasion, assault with a dangerous weapon, armed kidnapping with a firearm, carrying a firearm without a license, armed and masked robbery with a firearm, breaking and entering during the day to commit a felony, and placing a person in fear.

Keough is being held at the Bristol County jail.

Monday, Keough faced a judge in Providence on the Pawtucket charges. He waived extradition to Massachusetts.
