FALL RIVER, Mass., (WPRI) - A strip club controversy in Fall River. It's been years in the making and many residents are not happy that the risky behavior will be going on in there backyards.
Fall River Mayor Robert Correia revealed his plans at city hall on Thursday. The plans don't call for a strip club zone in the downtown area or on the waterfront. But, still many people are not pleased with it.
Fall River Mayor Robert Correia says, "This was not an easy decision to make."
The mayor revealed his plans at city hall on Thursday. He is proposing two zones for the strip clubs, including the Southside of 195 and the route 24 corridor south of 195 and option two is various commercial and industrial project.
The proposal not sitting well with many people. The mayor will have to submit his proposals to city council; they'll have to approve one of them.
Eyewitness News has learned that there will also be a public hearing.
