PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) - Rhode Island arts organizations are receiving more than $391,000 in federal stimulus grants to retain or restore jobs.
The state’s congressional delegation and Gov. Don Carcieri plan to announce the awarding of the grants Monday.
The grants are part of a state and national program designed to help the 18 arts organizations keep positions that contribute to Rhode Island’s economy and culture.
Officials say the grants will be awarded locally by the
State Council on
the Arts.
