Providence, R.I. (WPRI) - President Barack Obama signs the stimulus bill into law on Tuesday.

The money could trickle down to help Rhode Islanders find jobs.

The focus of the bill has been "job creation," but as we've found out, the stimulus may not create as many jos as first thought.

As unemployment lines grow longer, finding quality work is next to impossible.

Senator Jack Reed is touting the economic stimulus.

It infuses $1.1 billion dollars into Rhode Island's debt-ridden economy, but it's supposed to increase jobs.

Right now, nearly 57,000 people who should be working, aren't.

The White House says the bill will create 12,000 jobs in Rhode Island, but that leaves many more still out of work.

The government is hoping this investment sparks a turnaround, making this stimulus billions well spent.

It's up to the state to prioritize how the money is spent and the Senator won't get involved unless he's asked to.
