Man injured in escalator fall improving

Incident happened at Providence Place

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) - A Providence man was injured after falling about 20-feet from an escalator at Providence Place, according to police Capt. James Desmaris.

The incident happened around 11:30 p.m. Friday. David Rosati, 23, jumped on the railing and ended up falling, Desmaris said.

As of Monday morning, Rosati is in fair condition at Rhode Island Hospital.

Alcohol may have been a factor in the accident, according to the police report.

At least three people have been injured or killed in falls at Providence Place.

RDW spokesperson said Providence Place management is not commenting on this incident.
