PAWTUCKET, R.I. (WPRI) - A two-hour standoff at Slater Park has ended peacefully after police arrested an armed home invasion suspect.

Twenty-seven year-old, John Keough of Malden, Massachusetts was wanted for a home invasion on School St. in Rehoboth. Police say Keough bound the homeowner, stole cash, then took off with the woman's Prius.

A chase began a short time later, and ended up at Slater Park. According to an eyewitness, the Keough ended up in the water.

Police called in snipers and SWAT members and asked people to evacuate Slater Park while they tried to bring him into custody.

The standoff ended Friday shortly after 5:30 p.m. No word yet on what charges the suspect will be facing.
