FALL RIVER, MA (WPRI) - One very lucky man in Fall River hit the lottery- twice in one day. Phillip Brunelle’s good fortune started early Sunday morning when he won $1000 by scratching a Massachusetts State Lottery ticket. Things got even better after that.
Brunelle, a 29-year-old professional photographer, bought the ticket around 2 A.M. from a convenience store on East Main Street. He almost forgot that he bought the ticket, and nearly threw it away. After retrieving the ticket from the bottom of his grocery bag, he scratched a $1000 winner.
He went back to the store to report that he was winner, and decided to buy a $1,000,000 Money Mania scratch ticket. He scratched the $20 ticket and he won again. This time it was $1 million.
With his winnings, Brunelle plans on helping his 49-year-old
mother who has cerebral palsy. He does not plan on quitting his job
as a photographer, and may even open a studio…or two.
