PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) - A local radio host will lead a rally against Brown University's decision to boycott Columbus Day.
WPRO's John Depetro announced he is organizing the rally with the Brown Republicans and the school's paper "The Brown Spectator."
Back in the spring, Brown decided to re-name this weekend's day off from classes "Fall Weekend."
Students petitioned for the change, in view of the treatment of Native Americans after Columbus landed.
But Depetro says not honoring Columbus is an insult to Italian-Americans.
