PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) - This isn't the first time firefighers have had a scare with toxic fumes. In March of 2006,  the El Fogon restaurant on Broad Street in Providence caught fire.

In that same month two other house fires leave a total of eight firefighters with cyanide poisioning, one firefighter even suffering a heart attack.

At a January fire in Hopkinton the cyanide count was more than double the safe limit.

As a result dozens of people, mostly firefighters were rushed to the hospital as a precaution. EMT's and residents were also tested.

One resident Carolyn Denny says, " They sent an ambulance to take me to the hospital to see whether I had any of the toxic smoke, cause I inhalled a lot of it."

The Hydrogen Cyanide in the January incident was a result of the burning plastic, after an elderly woman left a portable radio inside an oven and turned it on.

Everyone tested on Monday tested negative for Hydrogen Cyanide.

After the toxic fires back in 2006 a task force was set up to study cyanide poisioning.
