Bill Lynch statement on Kennedy

(WPRI) - Bill Lynch, chairman of Rhode Island's Democratic Party, issued the following statement regarding Rep. Patrick Kennedy's decision to enter a medical facility for treatment.

"I want to commend Congressman Kennedy for making the voluntary and proactive decision to ensure his long-term health. His decision to confront this private matter in a very public manner will only help lessen the stigma millions of Americans encounter while seeking recovery each and every day.

"I'm confident Patrick will return with the energy and dedication that has made him a leader for Rhode Island and a fighter for his constituents in the first Congressional district."
