"Survivor" winner, and Rhode Island resident, Richard Hatch is scheduled to be released from federal prison Tuesday.

Hatch, 47, of Newport, is currently serving a four-year, three-month sentence for income tax evasion. Much of his sentence has been spent at a federal prison in Morgantown, West Virginia. He will be released from the facility to a halfway  house where he will spend the next six months. From there, his supervised release will begin.

Hatch was found guilty of not paying taxes on the $1 million he won on the first season of "Survivor." Since his trial, Hatch has claimed the show was rigged.. He has also said the producers offered to pay his taxes on the winnings, when he confronted them about the cheating. CBS has denied Hatch's claims.
