WARWICK, RI (WPRI)- - Flood warnings and high winds are making hazardous conditions on the roads and highways, but the storm is also bringing flooding, toppled trees and power outages.
Many houses across the state have experienced power outages due to the strong winds and torrential rain. Some are still without power in Newport and Washington counties this morning. According to National Grid they hope to have power restored by late morning.
The powerful wind is also responsible for a tree toppling on to Power lines on Atlanttic Avenue in Narragansett. A large tree was also uprooted from a home on Andover Street in North Providence. No one was hurt in either incident.
Sunday morning flooding is a big concern across the state. In Cranston the infamous Pawtuxet River is over flowing and residents in the nearby neighborhoods say that this isn't just a hassle but a real concern.
The Blackstone River is reportedly also causing flood concerns this morning.
Authorities are urging everyone on the roads today to be careful as hydroplaning is another serious concern. They are asking anyone who has to go out in the weather to use caution and allow extra travel time as hydroplaning can cause accidents if drivers are not careful.
