WESTERLY, R.I. (WPRI) -- Students at Westerly High School were in for an interesting day when they arrived at school Thursday morning.
The school was put on lockdown as police and drug-sniffing dogs from 17 different departments searched the school for illegal drugs, The Westerly Sun reported .
Students were told to stay in their classrooms during the sweep, and visitors were not allowed past the front office.
As of 3:15 p.m. Thursday, there had been no report as to whether or not the police discovered any drugs in the sweep.
