WEST WARWICK, R.I. (WPRI) -- West Warwick police are investigating after a pickup truck crashed into a local car dealership.

According to police, a black pickup truck was going down Route 3 when it hit a curb and became airborne.

The truck went through the lot of Route 3 Auto Sales and hit six cars before striking the building and part of the roof.

Niss Lev, the owner of the dealership, said he woke up to a phone call at 6 a.m. on Monday.

"I didn't know what to say," he said. "I didn't know what to do. Just came down right away. The Fire Department came to my house and picked me up."

Police suspect that the driver who lost control of his vehicle was intoxicated at the time of the incident. Lev said six of the cars at his dealership were significantly damaged.

"Disaster, that's all i can tell you," he said. "Disaster. It's pretty bad."

Nobody was at the dealership at the time of the crash, but the driver was taken to Rhode Island Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Police said they will arrest the suspect when he is released from the hospital.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
