CRANSTON, R.I. (WPRI) - Cranston firefighters collecting for their annual "Fill the Boot" drive got an unusual donation this weekend - a wedding band.

The firefighters were collecting in the area of Rolfe Square when they discovered the ring.

Officials believe the ring probably slipped off someone's finger or was deposited by accident.

The department is looking to get in contact with the person missing the ring to either return it, or make another arrangement.

Firefighters collected an estimated $5,000 Sunday as part of their annual campaign which benefits the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
