WOONSOCKET, R.I. (WPRI) - Woonsocket Mayor, Leo Fontaine is expecting to take drastic steps to get the city’s budget back in order.

According to the results of a new audit, the city finished the year 3.3 million dollars in the red. The school department also overspent this year by 3.6 million dollars.

The first term mayor says the results were expected, and that the audit will help the city decide where changes need to be made.
